Your Permanent Through-wall Flashing and Moisture Management System
The Gorilla Flash through-wall flashing and moisture management systems are available from STS Coatings, a Certified Texas HUB, located in the heart of Texas just outside of San Antonio.
The Gorilla Flash product line was designed to be tough, permanent, sustainable and to provide rapid water drainage from all cavity wall constructions.
Both products in our offering are manufactured from recycled copper and qualify for LEED points. The products come in 40' rolls for VF- 1000 and up to 60' rolls for CF-500; the length of these rolls greatly lessens the amount of laps thus significantly reducing the number of possible water entry points.
These moisture management flashing systems are compatible with our GreatSeal PE-150 & LT-100 sealants, our Universal Tape® UT-40 and our Wall Guardian® FW-100 air barrier.
By proper product design, sunlight has little to no deleterious effect on our products, and they can be left exposed.

VF-1000 is a complete through-wall flashing and water drainage system in one product. It is a multi-laminate composite of:
- Heavy duty, flexible fiberglass scrim
- A solid copper sheet is the core
- Surface layer of non-woven wicking fabric that does away with
- mortar deflection devices and additional treatments
- drip edges
- open head joints
The rapid and full section face drainage capabilities combined with providing additional air movement across the face of the veneer allows for rapid drying. Consequently, the use of VF-1000 drastically lessens mold growth potential.
CF-500 is a dual laminate composite of fiberglass and copper sheet. It is the same as VF-1000 but without the drainage fabric and its benefits. Historical details of moisture drainage management must be reintroduced when this product is specified
SPECIFIER NOTES: For easy visual quality control, VF-1000 & CF-500 are color coded by copper weight (3 oz. - gold, 5 oz.- red, 7 oz.- green). End Damns are easily fabricated. STS Coatings recommends the use of a metal termination bar in all through-wall flashing applications.
